It all started on a cold winter morning. Zo\u00e9 was a little cold, but the morning was still routine. After breakfast, we played, and she was already standing up skillfully. She enjoyed the situation, being able to view the world from a new perspective. She was an inquisitive little girl with a smile. However, while playing, I noticed that her skin was marbled unlike usual, and her mood suddenly became lethargic. I felt that something was wrong. I immediately contacted the pediatrician, who recommended that we immediately rush her to the hospital. The minutes of waiting passed with leaden slowness. I will never forget the room, the moment, or the doctor who told us the devastating news. Hearing the word encephalitis in relation to your child is a hell of a bad feeling. Our world quickly collapsed. She was in intensive care for almost 20 days, and Zo\u00e9 was put to sleep there for 14 days. During this period, she developed bilateral pneumonia. It was a difficult time for all of us. However, the little one took up the fight against the disease and began to respond well to the treatments he received. However, our joy did not last long. At the age of two, he was diagnosed with residual resistant epilepsy resulting from his disease. He has many seizures. I keep a diary of the frequency and course of these. Currently, they are trying to treat him with several medications. He was diagnosed with a specific developmental disorder mixed with Emelet SNI (special educational needs). Currently, we go to the doctor a lot because of the possibility of ADHD.
The name Zo\u00e9 means LIFE. Our little girl has shown at a very young age that her will to live and her attachment to life are boundless. The path she is on is challenging, requiring constant supervision that makes everyday life difficult.
