Alex was born at 39 weeks of gestation, completely healthy. During the tests, it was revealed that one of the horns of the ventricle was wider than the others, but the doctors reassured the mother and grandmother that this would completely regress by the time he was 1 month old.<\/p>\n
At the age of 1 month, Alex underwent a skull ultrasound and a skull MRI. Unfortunately, the results of the examination showed that little Alex's brain was full of cysts, which could have been caused by an infection he had contracted in the womb. Drug treatments began in the hospital. The treatment resulted in the cysts being absorbed, but his body did not respond well to the treatment and as a result he developed cerebral palsy.
Alex is a true warrior with immense will and strength. The little boy sat up at the age of 5.<\/p>\n
Due to family reasons, 12-year-old Alex is being raised by his grandmother, who fights for his grandson every day. The ordeals were not over for the small family. Alex is mostly bedridden and has also struggled with reflux, with a lot of stomach acid. In 2021, he received a gastrostomy tube because the acid narrowed his esophagus and he could not be fed orally. After that, he had monthly esophageal dilation, which resulted in ulceration and constant bleeding. After the dilation in December 2022, he vomited a large amount of blood, which also got into his lungs from being swallowed. 2 weeks of intensive treatment followed. 1 week of ventilator support was required.<\/p>\n
They have now stopped dilating. Little Alex is being fed by his grandmother via a tube. Due to the tube ulcer, it is not inserted into his stomach, but into his small intestine. Because of the tube inserted into his small intestine, he is hungry 24 hours a day. He cries and asks for food, day and night. Alex only weighs 15 kg at the age of 12. It would be a huge help to his grandmother if she could find a gastroenterologist who could help them.
Their biggest dream is to have the little boy examined and finally start gaining weight.
