Eszter was born from an uneventful pregnancy, and everything was fine in the first months. However, when she was 4 months old, her mother noticed that Eszter was not moving or developing properly. As a result of a genetic blood test, it was revealed that Eszter suffers from SMA type 1.
Eszter received the Spiranza drug treatment at 6 months, and then the Zolgensma gene therapy at 10 months with state support. As a result of the gene therapy and regular, intensive exercises, Eszter began to develop nicely: first, she started eating chunks of food when eating, and then drinking from a cup. Later, she learned to roll over, sit, and even sit up independently. Today, she uses a wheelchair. The family's goal is for Eszter to eventually stand independently and then walk with an assistive device. Although the road is long and requires a lot of exercises, Eszter is one step closer to her goal every day.
Treatment and rehabilitation are expensive and require continuous effort. Every contribution is a huge help in Eszter's development. The support is not only important financially, but also in letting Eszter and her family know that they are not alone in their struggle.
Let's support Eszter so that she can also realize those goals that seem far away today, but with your help, they will be achievable.
