Noémi M. has had a particularly difficult journey since birth. Although she arrived on time, it soon became clear that her condition was cause for concern. In the first days of her life, she became so ill that she was transferred to several hospitals to find the cause of her ailments. The doctors noticed posture problems, slower development and deteriorating vision. The condition of her eyes continued to worsen, and it was suggested that a rare congenital retinal disorder might be the cause. Tests abroad were also necessary to obtain an accurate diagnosis. In Budapest, it was finally confirmed that Noémi was indeed born with a rare retinal disorder that affects both her vision and her development. Noémi's mother did everything she could to find help: she visited doctors, underwent tests and persistently sought opportunities to improve her little girl's condition. Noémi's story is one of struggle, yet it is also full of hope. She learns and develops every day, and her family is confident that their efforts will eventually lead to a better quality of life for her.
