In August 2024, the family's life was turned upside down by an unexpected diagnosis: their nine-year-old son, Peti, was diagnosed with leukaemia. The news came as a shock to everyone. The family was split: the mother and her son stayed in Szeged for treatment, while the father stayed at home with the older child.
In the autumn, the boy started chemotherapy treatment, which was extremely intensive according to medical protocol. During the therapy, there were several side effects and complications, but the family persevered throughout. Unfortunately, at the end of the course of treatment, it was discovered that the bone marrow still contained detectable leukaemic cells - half a thousandth of ten cells.
The hospital therefore recommended another PET treatment, which was started immediately. The family is expected back in the capital, as the prolonged treatment will mean a longer stay in hospital. They are working hard to get their little boy well as soon as possible - but they still need all the help they can get.
Let's help Peti and her Family together!
