As well as the children’s carefree laughter and the shared experiences, there was also a special stop on the I. Our family camp: the screening bus rolling up to the site. The Generali Foundation for Safety Thanks to this initiative, adult chaperones and parents attending the camp were able to undergo free, comprehensive health screening tests.
As parents, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the needs of our family and children almost always take precedence over our own. There is little time left for self-care, and preventive medical check-ups often end up at the very bottom of our to-do lists. This is precisely why the screening bus provided at the camp site was such a huge help: parents and carers were able to set aside 20 minutes for their own health in comfort, in the midst of the programme, without having to travel or wait.
Participants were able to take part in a quick and painless diagnostic screening, which consisted of the following elements:
Full body composition analysis:
Measurement of exact body weight, skeletal muscle and body fat mass, BMI, segmental soft tissue, fat and water analysis, as well as the ratio of minerals to proteins, with a view to determining the ideal target weight.
Blood pressure measurement in the upper limb:
Measurements taken on both arms show not only the systolic and diastolic readings but also the differences between the arms and the pulse pressure.
Lower limb blood pressure measurement (Ankle-brachial index / ABI):
A quick assessment of the circulatory status of the lower limbs and the patency of the vascular system.
Bone density measurement:
Ultrasound can be used to measure the bone density of the heel, enabling the risk of osteoporosis to be identified at an early stage.
